Hilma af Klint’s Group X, No. 1, Altarpieces (1915) is a striking symbolic work that blends spirituality and geometry. A radiant golden circle, resembling a divine sun or halo, hovers above a pyramid composed of layered color bands transitioning from red to blue. Each band contains intricate floral or mandala-like forms, suggesting stages of spiritual evolution. Set against a black background, the composition evokes a mystical ascent toward enlightenment and cosmic unity.
