Cats on Roof at Full Moon, by German artist Fedor Flinzer (1832–1911).
An atmospheric oil painting depicting cats gathered on the rooftops of an old European town beneath a glowing full moon. Two cats confront one another with arched backs and bared teeth, while a third watches from a nearby chimney. The warm moonlight, dramatic sky and distant Gothic architecture lend the scene a mysterious, almost theatrical quality.
