Deer in The Forest | Eugen Krüger | 19th Century
Taxes incluses
A haunting nocturnal woodland scene in which a lone stag emerges from the shadowed undergrowth, illuminated only by the pale glow of a rising moon. Eugen Krüger's (1832–1876) masterful handling of muted tones and atmospheric depth evokes a sense of mystery and quiet tension, capturing the immensity of the forest and the almost spectral presence of the animal within it. A compelling example of Romantic landscape painting infused with dark, poetic mood.
