The Lovers (1928) by René Magritte (1898–1967).

In this famous surrealist painting, Belgian artist René Magritte depicts two lovers kissing through white cloths that completely conceal their faces. Although physically close, the fabric prevents any direct contact, creating a sense of mystery and separation. The painting is often interpreted as an exploration of love, intimacy and the barriers that prevent people from truly knowing one another.
