In a dark, intimate setting, Tekemessa bends over the young Eurysakes in a gesture of fierce protection and grief. Their entwined bodies and strained expressions convey maternal anguish and looming loss, drawn from tragic myth. With dramatic lighting and heightened emotion, Henry Fuseli transforms tenderness into tragedy, capturing love shadowed by fate and despair.
