"Judas Iscariot" by Sascha Schneider, painted circa 1908, is an evocative and dark piece of art that portrays a powerful scene. The painting depicts Judas, the infamous betrayer of Jesus Christ, in a moment of torment and despair. He is shown naked, walking while bound and entwined by thorny branches that seem to both restrain and punish him. His posture is one of defeat and anguish, his head bowed and his expression sorrowful.
