This haunting illustration reflects Rauh’s Fantastic Realist vision, combining meticulous detail with strange, dreamlike imagery. Created in the aftermath of the Second World War, its skeletal figure and unsettling forms evoke themes of death, destruction and the psychological unease of post-war Europe.
