A Witch | Edgar Bundy | 1896

"A Witch" by Edgar Bundy, painted in 1896, depicts a dark and eerie scene set in a dense forest. The central figure is a wild-eyed, dishevelled witch, draped in tattered black clothing. She stands barefoot on the forest floor, amidst overgrown foliage and vibrant red mushrooms. Black crows surround her, some in flight and others perched on the ground, adding to the sinister atmosphere. The background is ablaze with an orange and yellow glow, suggesting either a setting sun or a supernatural fire. The witch's intense expression and the dynamic movement of the crows create a sense of chaos and malevolence.
