The Tower of Babel is a tale originating from the Bible, specifically the Book of Genesis, symbolizing humanity's ambition and its potential consequences. According to the biblical account, after the Great Flood, humans decided to build a city with a tower that would reach the heavens to make a name for themselves and prevent their scattering across the world. Viewing this as hubris, God disrupted their project by confounding their single language, causing them to speak in different tongues. Unable to understand one another, they scattered across the earth, which effectively put a halt to their construction. The story of the Tower of Babel serves as an allegorical narrative that underscores the risks of overambition, the necessity for humility before God, and an explanation for the existence of different languages and cultural diversity across the globe.
