In Witches’ Sabbath, Francisco de Goya y Lucientes depicts a nightmarish gathering of witches assembled around a looming, goat-like devil. Grotesque faces, distorted bodies, and deep shadows create an atmosphere of fear and superstition. The scene reflects Goya’s dark view of human folly, exposing the terror, ignorance, and moral corruption that lurk beneath society’s surface.
